Connecting a domain registered elsewhere
Point an external domain at your Xelora website by changing nameservers or DNS records.

Two ways to connect
- Nameservers: move DNS management to Xelora. This is usually the simplest option.
- DNS records: keep DNS at your current registrar and add the required records shown by Xelora.
Before you change DNS
Check whether your current DNS also handles email. If it does, copy existing MX, SPF, DKIM, and other important records before changing nameservers.

DNS Record Types
A - Points to an IPv4 address
AAAA - Points to an IPv6 address
CNAME - Alias to another domain
MX - Mail server for the domain
TXT - SPF, DKIM, verification
NS - Nameserver for the domain
Email warning: changing nameservers or MX/TXT records can interrupt mail. Copy existing mail records before changing DNS providers.
Propagation time
DNS changes often appear within minutes but can take up to 24 hours globally. SSL may also need time after the domain points correctly.
